Come to Lil’ Studio and create your own beaded tapestry! We’ll start by looking at art by Kori Newkirk and reflecting on the importance of beads in art and culture.
Next, we’ll make colorful patterns as we string beads onto soft pipe cleaners. We’ll conclude by singing songs and reading The Me I Choose to Be by Natasha Tarpley.
Join us for a joyful session of art, music, reading and play!
Parents, caregivers, and organizations servicing little ones under five years old are invited to the NYPL Harlem Library to enjoy art making and other activities that encourage creative time and bonding.
Lil' Studio is designed to explore innovative ways to work in the community while taking the Museum beyond its own walls. Lil' Studio is free. Click here for accessibility information at NYPL Harlem Library.
