On Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 6:00 pm EST, join us for our next Studio LIVE program featuring multidisciplinary artist and poet Mimi Tempestt. Tempestt was chosen for Lambda Literary Writers Retreat for Emerging LGBTQ Voices for poetry in 2021 and is currently a creative fellow at The Ruby in San Francisco. Tempestt’s debut collection of poetry, the monumental misrememberings, is published with Co-Conspirator Press (2020) and additional published work by the artist can be found in Foglifter, Chaparral Press’s Granada, Interim, and Honey Literary.

During this program, Tempestt will recite her poetry as well as engage in a conversation with Chayanne Marcano, Senior Coordinator, Public Programs and Community Engagement to discuss her work in the forthcoming web project by 2019⁠–20 artist in residence Nauldine Pierre for the exhibition This Longing Vessel: Studio Museum Artists in Residence 2019–20.

Designed as a way for our audiences to engage digitally in real-time with artists, curators, thought-leaders, and cultural luminaries the Studio Museum’s online series Studio LIVE invites members of the Studio Museum community to take up and take over the Museum’s digital platforms as public forum and site of creative exploration.
