NO BAR, 25 Cooper Square, New York, NY
2018-2019 artist in residence Sable Elyse Smith invites visitors to a sonic exploration of the themes in her latest body of work, currently on view in MOOD. Readings and DJ sets pay homage to alternate economies, everyday violence, and mundane poetics to activate NO BAR for a night of listening, dancing, and convening from 8 pm until late. Poet and visual artist Anaïs Duplan kicks off the evening with a reading and the night concludes with DJ sets by Henry Murphy, Skype Williams, and Telfar. Throughout the night, enjoy signature cocktails inspired by Smith’s multidisciplinary practice and the sights and sounds of Harlem.
This event is open to adults aged 21 and over. NO BAR is located on the ground floor with access to bathrooms inside The Standard Hotel.
The exhibition at MoMA PS1 is made possible by generous support from John L. Thomson.
