The Studio Museum in Harlem is thrilled to participate in the Harlem Pride 2023 Festival! We invite our Harlem neighbors and New York City at large to join us in Pride Month celebrations.

In addition to offering copies of Studio magazines and Harlem Postcards, there will be a drop-in quilt-making workshop for adults and children inspired by artwork from the Museum’s permanent collection. Taking inspiration from Faith Ringgold’s Echoes of Harlem (1980) and the AIDS Memorial Quilt, this activity encourages participants to honor LGBTQIA+ ancestors of African descent while showing appreciation for living community members.

Collaborative Quilt: Echoes of Pride

Collaborative Quilt: Echoes of Pride
