We are excited to welcome the 2019 class of Expanding the Walls: Making Connections Between Photography, History and Community! Expanding the Walls is an eight-month photography-based program for a select group of students enrolled in a high school or GED program. Participants work with a diverse group of arts professionals to explore issues related to community, history, and culture while learning the basics of photography in a regimen of art workshops, discussion groups and field excursions.
What will this next eight months bring for Expanding the Walls? Every Tuesday and Saturday, we will meet to create art, engage in discussion, and embark on excursions, all while learning the basics of digital photography.
For the next eight sessions, we will be studying film photography through a partnership at The School of Visual Arts with artist and professor Isaac Diggs. We look forward to sharing our experiences and what we create. Congratulations to the Expanding the Walls class of 2019!
