The Studio Museum in Harlem is Temporarily Closed Until Further Notice

The Studio Museum is currently closed for the construction of its new building—the first in its history  created expressly for the needs of  the institution and its  communities. The space will expand the Museum’s program of world-renowned exhibitions, effectively display its singular collection, and strengthen its trailblazing Artist-in-Residence program, while serving as both a cultural anchor for the Harlem community and as a center for Black art worldwide. Designed by Adjaye Associates with Cooper Robertson, the building will occupy the site on West 125th Street on which the Studio Museum operated from 1982 through 2018. Learn more about the forthcoming museum at Creating Space.

As we continue to monitor the challenges posed by COVID-19, our programming space, Studio Museum 127, remains temporarily closed.

The Museum continues to offer a robust suite of curatorial and educational programming for both adults and children online and at various partner institutions and organizations across New York City and the rest of the country.
