The Studio Museum in Harlem is proud to present Adjaye’s first US presentation of his architectural work, David Adjaye: Making Public Buildings. Having first established a reputation for projects that explore the unfolding of interior space, Adjaye moved on to public buildings that emphasize emotion as much as functionality. This exhibition focuses on ten of Adjaye’s major public projects, either realized or in development. Each project is presented on a custom-made trestle table and is represented by three models: the smaller models look at each building’s relationship to its site; the medium scale models explore the design of interior space; while the larger scale models focus on each building’s exterior.
