How might art be used to talk about identity? Explore this question with your little one in a workshop inspired by the work of Hank Willis Thomas. Have your picture taken, then use it to create a work of art that celebrates who you are! Participants will also receive an identity-themed Take Home Art Project created by our friends at The Children's Museum of the Arts, so you can continue the conversation at home.
This special edition of Lil' Studio is presented as a part of CIVICKIDS, a yearlong initiative of The Children's Museum of the Arts that asks children from all over the world to create art based upon themes such as leadership, sustainability, kindness, and more.
Parents, caregivers, and organizations servicing little ones ages 2.5 to 4 are invited to the NYPL Harlem Library to enjoy art making and other activities that encourage creative time and bonding.
Session A is designed for organizations and agencies providing care for pre-school aged children. Session B welcomes parents and caregivers.
Lil' Studio is free, refreshments will be provided. Pre-registration is required.
Lil' Studio is part of inHarlem, The Studio Museum in Harlem's initiative designed to explore innovative ways to work in the community while taking the Museum beyond its own walls. The Studio Museum's Family Programs are generously sponsored by Target.
