Studio Spring/Summer 2018 is our biggest issue yet, with 128-pages full of art, culture, and member news. Studio’s thirty-first issue is loosely themed around Harlem, as both space and place. Inside, readers will find a profile on the I, Too Arts Collective at the Langston Hughes House; a probing essay on how Harlem’s visual art and music production embraces the legacy of Black culture in New York; our new column Practice in Print—which sees the return of artist commissions specifically for Studio—inaugurated by a captivating photo essay from Kayode Ojo; film and book reviews; and a feature on the Museum’s new Community Advisory Network. Visit Studio online for regular posts from our current issue.

This issue includes writing by Desiree C. Bailey, Joshua Bell, Eric Booker, Charmaine Marie Branch, Angelica Calderon, Zainab Floyd, Nelson George, Jennifer Harley, Chloe Hayward, Chanice Hughes-Greenberg, Ginny Huo, Sasha Jelan, Nectar Knuckles, Malaika Langa, Thomas J. Lax, Sable Elyse Smith, Ketter Weissman, Nico Wheadon, Anaïs Duplan, Victoria L. Valentine, and Fatima Zaidi. Artist Firelei Báez is on our cover, with a work from her current exhibition Joy Out of Fire at the Schomburg Center.
